Why we write

Today our writers group talked about why we write.

A day without thinking about writing, fretting about writing, or actually writing isn’t a complete day.

Writing takes us out of our everyday lives. It isn’t something that is routine, controlled,  or structured. It’s perfect yet unpredictable, frustrating yet gratifying. Some days it drives us crazy; some days it makes us proud.

Each sentence is a prize; each well written sentence is a victory.

We write because we can.
